FYI 10/23 - 10/31 From Mr. Stowe

We have a few changes to our calendar for State Marching Band Finals Week. The week is very packed with Senior show activities, a Thursday Night Game and most importantly State Marching Band Finals. I have detailed the week's schedule below and will "bold" any changes made to the calendar.

10/23 - Away Game at Groveport Madison High School. Report time is 4:00
10/26 - Practice 5-7 pm
10/28 - Practice 4-6 pm
10/29 - Home Game vs. Gahanna Report is 4:00
10/30 - Practice 2:30 - 4:00
10/31 - State Marching Band Finals at Hilliard Bradley High School.

Many of you can see the SMBF site schedule on the OMEA site. Please know the schedule is not finalized until Sunday. I'm avoiding putting out details about our performance time to avoid potential confusion. The timeline for the day will be very similar to our typical contest Saturday. Plan on an afternoon report time and depart early evening. I will post an official timeline for SMBF's on Monday morning.

FYI 10/9/2015 - 10/17/2015

All,

We are sprinting towards the finish line in the competitive portion of marching band season! I wanted to take a moment and pass along details for the next few events.

10/9/15 Central @ Grove City

Our report time for students is 3:30 and our departure time tonight is 5:30. The weather should cooperate with no rain and temps in the 60's! We should be home around 11:15 pm.

10/16/15 Band Senior Night
Next week's home game is senior night! We plan to recognize all of our seniors and their parents. This will take place prior to pregame. Details for changing back into uniforms after the ceremony will be made with Mr. McClelland. Additionally, we are hosting 8th grade night. Ridgeview Junior High 8th graders will join us during pregame to experience what it's like to be under the Friday night lights!

Note: To stay in accordance with tradition and the wearing of goofy costumes, the senior show will take place on 10/29.

All,

First I want to congratulate all of our students for a great first show at the Cambridge Cavalcade of Bands contest. I was very proud of everyone involved. Our staff, boosters and students executed the plan flawlessly, despite the weather. Again, very proud!!!

PTP update:
We have roughly 15 students who have yet to pay the second half of their PTP fee. Please remember to get this paid. The school has the right, per board policy to remove students from the field if this is not paid.

Central vs. North 10/2/15
Central travels to North this year. Safety is always our priority at football games, this is even more true when we are away at rival schools. We plan on having a very specific entrance and exit strategy getting in and out of the North stadium. Additionally, our boosters are planning to have a 3rd quarter meal plan available. It is not free, but will be at a comparable price. The boosters are not making a profit off of this service. We don't want Central band students going to North concessions, the liability is too great.
